Jaqueline Cox, MD

As the daughter of an Air Force physician Dr. Jacqueline Cox was privileged to live in several locations before her family settled in northern California and opened a practice in San Francisco's Mission District.  Dr. Cox earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at the University of California, Davis.  Dr. Cox attended Temple University Medical School and went on to do her internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota.  There, she was chosen to serve as Chief Resident, a selection based on both clinical and leadership skills.  After her Chief year, Dr. Cox served in the role of Clinical Instructor and was voted Teacher of the Year by University of Minnesota residents and interns.  Dr. Cox then moved to Seattle where she entered a hematology and oncology fellowship at the University of Washington.

Dr. Cox made the trek to Fairbanks in January of 2005 via the ferry to Haines and then the Alcan with her two young children, husband and dog, all crammed into a ’98 Subaru station wagon.  It has been an adventure ever since.  She and her husband, Dr. Andrew Cox, both joined the practice of Dr. J. Michael Carroll.  She has found Fairbanks to be a wonderful place to both practice medicine and raise a family.  She is grateful for the many opportunities our town affords its children to participate in sports and the arts.

W Wm. Andrew Cox, MD

Specialty: Medical Oncology

Raised in Colorado, Dr. Andrew Cox attended Dartmouth College for his undergraduate chemistry studies and then earned his MD from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia.  Dr. Cox went on to the University of Minnesota for Internal Medicine residency and worked as junior faculty subsequently, teaching residents and medical students.  Dr. Cox received his hematology and oncology fellowship training in Seattle at the University of Washington.

Dr. Cox began working with Dr. J. Michael Carroll in the summer of 2004.  Not only would Fairbanks prove to be an amazing place to raise a family, but both of the Coxes were also privileged to have a superlative mentor in Dr. Carroll, a physician truly beyond compare.  In 2009 the Coxes partnered with Dr. Carroll to form Fairbanks Cancer Care Physicians, PC (FCCP).  Dr. Andrew Cox has served as president of FCCP since 2011.

In his free time Dr. Cox has enjoyed many wonderful driving adventures in Alaska with his family to places like Valdez, Atigun Pass, and Dawson City.  Recently, his own children started driving and he finds himself relegated to the ’98 Subaru family station wagon, now on its third engine, that brought the family to Fairbanks all those years ago.
